Banned Books Week 2007 is now underway! To start things off, here is the list of top ten most frequently challenged books of 2006, as compiled by the American Library Association:
And Tango Makes Three by Justic Richardson and Peter Parnell. Challenged for homosexuality, “anti-family” content, and being unsuitable for age group.

Library staff have started to add letters, complete with transcriptions, from the U.S. Women and World War II Letter Writing Project to Bryant’s institutional repository, Digital Commons. Remember, Banned Books Week begins this Saturday, September 29th.
And just in time for this year’s event, a group of Chicago parents are trying to ban The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. Cormier’s book is often a target foe such attempts, as we’ll show you next week.
