SurfRI is underway!

SurfRI, the Rhode Island Statewide Databases is trial, began on April 3rd, and is running until May 31st.

The trial, sponsored by The Special Legislative Commission to Study the Strengths and Weaknesses of Library Services in the State of Rhode Island, is an effort to help make Rhode Island one of the 48 states to provide state-wide database access. This could help provide all citizens throughout the state with one-stop access to high-quality academic research information from work, home, school, or the library. And it doesn’t hurt that by buying into these databases on such a far-reaching level, it would be more cost-efficient for all parties involved (most of these services don’t come particularly cheap, you know).
