Calling all knitters and crocheters- and those who want to learn!
The library is collecting handmade hats for preemies and newborns with congenital heart defects in partnership with the American Heart Association. We are collecting hats now through Tuesday December 18th.
We are happy to give you a crash course in knitting or crocheting, and we have some supplies for anyone who needs help getting started, though supplies are limited.
Don’t forget to join the Stitch2Gether Ravelry group to share patterns and ideas!
Here are some patterns to get you started:
- Crochet Baby Hat Pattern
- Crochet Preemie Hat Pattern
- Knitted Baby Hat Pattern
- Knitted Hat Pattern 2
- Knitted Preemie Hat Pattern
- Knit Baby Bear Hat Pattern
- Cotton or acrylic
- Medium to heavy weight
- Machine washable and dryable
Simple hat patterns only, please. Extraneous bows and buttons can come off the hats and pose a safety hazard for the little ones.
See Maura or Allison in the library for additional information!
