We have it…the first Oprah’s Book Club choice for 2018: AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE by award winning author Tayari Jones. What made Oprah want to share this novel with her Book Club members? Says Oprah, “After the first few chapters, as I got to know Roy and Celestial and Andre, I forgot they were fictional characters. I found myself in that zone readers yearn for: I wanted to cancel all my plans and curl up with my new friends. ” No doubt, a book you won’t want to put down this Spring season!
A very important week is upon us all – it’s the “Fair Use / Fair Dealing” week which runs from February 26 – March 2, 2018. It’s a week coordinated by the Association of Research Libraries, celebrating the importance of fair use in the United States and fair dealing in Canada and other jurisdictions. In it’s simplest terms, “fair use” and “fair dealing” are the legal use of copyrighted materials without permission from the copyright holder under certain circumstances – something students and educators deal with on a daily basis. For more information and ideas on how you can be an active participator, please visit their site: Association of Research Libraries
